Roadside delivery timber sale (leveransvirke) is a timber sales method where the forest owner is responsible for harvesting and transporting the timber to a forest road. The buyer pays the forest owner based on measured volume according to a fixed price list.
This method suits active forest owners who have the time, knowledge, and their own forest machinery to carry out the harvesting themselves. One advantage is that the forest owner has full control over how trees are bucked—that is, crosscut into different assortments—which can affect the financial outcome.
